Taiko workshop by Akira and Kanako – September 2024

Akira Sakaue and Kanako Otani will be in the Netherlands in September 2024 for performances and workshops. 

The following taiko workshops are scheduled in our dojo:

Taiko workshop:

Saturday 28 September 2024: 13:00 – 16:00

Sunday 29 September 2024: 14:00 – 17:00 (fully booked)

The workshop is for all levels. No musical experience or knowledge is needed. Everybody can attend as long as you are physically in a healthy condition.

They will offer basic techniques for playing Taiko and simple rhythm. Of course they will offer another part for advanced who have played the Japanese taiko before and master the very basic techniques.

The workshop will take place with a minimum of 8 participants each. The maximum number of participants for this workshop will be 14 people. 

The participation fee for the taiko workshop is Euro 97,50 (including 21% VAT) per person. If you combine the taiko workshop with a koto workshop by Satoko Sensei in the morning (on the same day) you get a discount of 10% on the participation fee. 

The taiko drums will be provided by Tentekomai as well as the Japanese drumsticks (bachi) for playing the taiko during the workshop. If you want to buy the bachi (and possibly have them signed by Akira and Kanako) after the workshop the price for one pair will be Euro 16,00. 

It is also possible to book a closed workshop for your team, club, family etc. on a date to be fixed and agreed upon in september 2024, the period of stay of Akira and Kanako in the Netherlands.

WORKSHOPS AND LESSONS

Koto workshop by Satoko Hayashi – September 2024

In September 2024 the Japanese Koto teacher Satoko will come to the Netherlands to give private koto lessons and koto workshops for small groups. 

The following koto workshop for beginners in our dojo is scheduled:

Sunday 29 September 2024: 10:00 – 12:30

Everybody who is interested in learning how to play the Japanese koto can attend. No musical experience is required. You also don’t need to be able to read music. 

In this workshop you will learn about the koto instrument, the sitting position, hand and finger positions, some basic exercises and some simple tunes. 

A koto for each participant will be provided during the workshop.

The workshop will take place with a minimum of 8 participants each. The maximum number of participants will be 14 people. 

The participation fee for a koto workshop is € 90,00 (including 21% VAT) per person. If you combine the koto workshop with a taiko workshop by Akira and Kanako in the afternoon on the same day you get a discount of 10% on the participation fee. 

We also would like to offer you the possibility to enjoy a Japanese lunch after the koto lesson. The costs for the lunch will be Euro 15,00 per person.

It is also possible to book a private workshop or a closed koto workshop for your team, club, family etc. on a date to be fixed and agreed upon from 24 to 29 September 2024, the period of stay of Satoko in the Netherlands. Please feel free to contact us for more information or for your registration.
